2025 New Zealand Wine Festivals: A Month-by-Month Guide for Wine Lovers
As a devoted wine enthusiast, I’ve taken it upon myself to research the best New Zealand Wine Festivals happening across New Zealand in 2025. From boutique gatherings in picturesque vineyards to large-scale celebrations of food and wine, New Zealand has a packed calendar of events this year. I’m making it my mission to attend as many of these as possible. If you know of an event I don’t have listed here, get in touch and I will add it to the list.
January
Bridge Pa Wine Festival (Hawke’s Bay, NZ): 11th Annual Bridge Pa Wine Festival 2025 hosted by the wineries of the Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District. Saturday 18th January 2025.
Toast Martinborough (Martinborough, NZ)Toast Martinborough is an iconic event that for the past 30 years has celebrated Martinborough’s world-class wines. Sunday 19th January 2025.
February
Marlborough Wine & Food Festival (Renwick, Marlborough): New Zealand’s longest-running wine and food festival. World famous for fabulous selection of wines, delicious cuisine, and brilliant atmosphere. Saturday 8th February 2025.
Pinot Noir New Zealand (Ōtautahi, Christchurch) Pinot Noir New Zealand 2025 is an opportunity to connect in person. Meet passionate Pinot Noir producers from around New Zealand’s wine growing regions. Tuesday 11th – Thursday 13th February 2025.
Wairarapa Wines Harvest Festival (The Cliffs, Ruamahunga River, Wairarapa) Wairarapa’s finest wineries, high profile restaurants, and food producers will showcase their wares set amongst ancient native trees in the Festival’s spectacular riverside setting. Saturday 15th February 2025.
Roam Central (Otago, New Zealand) A Central Otago weekend of wine, food & discovery. Roam Central 2025 offers a rare chance to connect with the region’s top winemakers and producers. Indulge in unforgettable wine experiences amidst vineyards. Delve into tastings featuring rare wines you may never encounter again. Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th February 2025.
Cider and Fruit Wine Festival (Greytown, NZ): A celebration of award-winning cider and fruit wine producers from the lower North Island. Saturday 22nd February, 2025.
March
Sip and Savour (Palmerston North, NZ): This event will bring together a curated selection of artisan dishes and a variety of beverages from top vendors. Saturday 1st March, 2025.
North Canterbury Food and Wine Festival (Glenmark Domain, Waipara) Set Under the Oaks in Glenmark Domain is the Coolest Little Wine Festival! Under the Oaks you will find pockets of entertainment, immerse yourselves in conversations with other lovers of local produce and fall in love with everything North Canterbury has to offer! Sunday 19th March 2025.
Mairangi Bay Food and Wine Festival (Mairangi Bay, Auckland): Prepare your taste buds for a superb selection of the best local New Zealand wineries and breweries, alongside popular eateries and food vendors. Saturday 15th March, 2025.
Flavours of Plenty Festival ( Bay of Plenty, New Zealand) Embark on a gastronomic adventure showcasing our region’s finest fare. Savour local delicacies, meet passionate artisans, and indulge in culinary masterpieces. From farm-fresh produce to innovative cuisine, this 18-day feast promises an unforgettable celebration of what the Bay of Plenty has to offer as a food region. Thursday 27th March – Sunday 13th April 2025.
Hawke’s Bay Food and Wine Classic (Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand) Returning for a remarkable 13th year, Hawke’s Bay’s famed foodie festival promises to delight tastebuds with celebration after celebration of the region’s bounty. With local heroes being joined by a stellar cast of visiting talent, opportunity abounds to experience incredible cuisine in many of Hawke’s Bay’s most stunning urban and rural locations. Friday 14th March – Sunday 23rd March 2025.
Ripe – Wanaka Wine and Food Festival (Lake Wanaka, NZ): Ripe – The Wanaka Wine and Food Festival returns to the shores of Lake Wanaka. Attendees will get to enjoy the exceptional panoramic lake and mountain views of the majestic bay area while enjoying some premium wine and food supplied by Central Otago’s best producers. Saturday 22nd March, 2025.

The Food Show (Christchurch, NZ): All the ingredients you need for a great day out in Christchurch. Friday 4th April – Sunday 6th April, 2025.

The Great NZ Food Show (Glaudelands, Hamilton): Take your tastebuds on a culinary journey and experience a fantastic day out with family and friends, sampling the latest foods, wines and delicious products. Saturday 5th July – Sunday 6th July, 2025.
The Food Show (Auckland, NZ): All the ingredients you need for a great day out in Christchurch. Friday 24th July – Sunday 27th July, 2025.

The Food Show (Wellington, NZ): All the ingredients you need for a great day out in Christchurch. Friday 29th August – Sunday 31st August, 2025.
October
Winetopia (Auckland, NZ): Immerse yourself in a celebration of taste, culture, and community as we sip, swirl and savour the rich flavours and captivating tales of New Zealand wine. Friday 3rd October – Saturday 4th October.
