Australian Wine Festivals 2025: A Month-by-Month Guide for Wine Lovers

As a devoted wine enthusiast, I’ve taken it upon myself to research the best wine festivals happening across Australia in 2025. From boutique gatherings in picturesque vineyards to large-scale celebrations of food and wine, Australia has a packed calendar of events this year. I’m making it my mission to attend as many of these as possible. If you know of an event I don’t have listed here, get in touch and I will add it to the list.

January

  • Snowies Beer, Food & Wine Festival (Thredbo, NSW): Sip, swirl and taste your way through a non-stop weekend of regional craft beers, wines and spirits, local gourmet food and live music, Friday 24th January – Sunday 26th January 2025.
  • Cellar Door Fest (Adelaide, SA): Adelaide’s favourite food & drink festival brings three days of gourmet fun to the heart of the city, Friday 31st January – Sunday 2nd February 2025.
  • Festivale 2025 (Launceston, TAS): Tasmania’s Premium Summer Event. A Three day celebration offering food, beer, wine, spirits, cider and entertainment, Friday 31st January – Sunday 2nd February 2025.

February

  • The Prosecco Festival (Abbotsford, VIC): Explore a great selection of quality bubbles and meet the winemakers and importers at the EIGHTH annual festival dedicated to Prosecco!, Saturday 22nd February 2025.
  • Tasmanian Wine Fest (Hobart, TAS): Featuring over 35 Tasmanian vineyards and wines from all around Tasmania. Saturday 8th February – Sunday 9th February 2025.

March

  • Melbourne’s Wine & Cheese Fest (Melbourne, VIC) Since 2014, Melbourne´s Wine and Cheese Fest has been the go-to event for foodies, and this year promises to be their best yet! Saturday 1st March 2025.
  • Shoal Bay Food and Wine Festival (Shoal Bay, NSW): Get ready to indulge your senses at the inaugural Shoal Bay Food and Wine Festival, a mouthwatering celebration of some of the region’s food, wine, craft beer, and spirits. Saturday 1st March 2025.
  • Sparkling Wahroonga Food and Wine Festival (Wahroonga, NSW): Sparkling WAHROONGA Food + Wine Festival is more than just an event. It’s an experience. Each element has been skilfully selected to tie into the central theme ‘SPARKLING’, creating a cohesive sensory experience. Sunday 2nd March 2025.
  • Swan Hill Region Food and Wine Festival (Swan Hill, VIC): Three days of events, festivities, tastings, entertainment and food and wine focused happenings all over town. Friday 7th March – Sunday 9th March 2025.
  • Hawkesbury Food and Wine Festival (Clarendon, NSW): Get ready for a delicious day out at the Hawkesbury Food & Wine Festival – a celebration of local flavors and good times! Saturday 8th March 2025.
  • Tastes of Rutherglen (Rutherglen, VIC): This isn’t just another wine festival. Tastes of Rutherglen is an epic celebration of flavour, fun, and discovery where every glass tells a story. Every cellar door invites you to explore something new. Saturday 8th March – Sunday 9th March 2025.
  • Peninsula Piers & Pinots (Flinders Beach, VIC): An Annual celebration of the Mornington Peninsula’s exceptional pinots-Noir, Gris, still and sparkling. Held each March Labour Day weekend, this seaside event offers a perfect pairing of over 60 wines, great local food, and live music from The Warrains to create a festive and unforgettable atmosphere. Sunday 9th March 2025.
  • The Long Lunch (Falls Creek, VIC): Experience a gourmet menu accompanied by matched regional wines and beers while you soak in the stunning surrounds of the Victorian High Country. Friday 14th March 2025.
  • The Longest Lunch (Geelong, VIC): This extraordinary event is not just about dining – it’s a feast for the senses! With a four-course gourmet experience, including expertly crafted canapés, a three-course seated culinary degustation, and perfectly paired wines, it’s the ultimate celebration of Geelong’s finest flavours. Each bite will be a tribute to the local produce and providers that make the region’s food scene so special. Friday 21st March 2025.
  • Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (Melbourne, VIC): Feed your curiosity at Australia’s biggest celebration of drinking and dining. Friday 21st March – Saturday 29th March 2025.
  • Orange Food Week (Orange, NSW): From humble beginnings in 1991, Orange FOOD Week has grown into Australia’s longest-running regional food festival. Friday 28th March Sunday 6th April 2025.

April

  • Taste Tamworth Festival (Tamworth, NSW): See why the Tamworth region is fast becoming a must-visit destination for foodies at the annual Taste Tamworth Festival.  Drawing visitors from across New South Wales, Taste Tamworth is a 10-day celebration of food, wine and produce from across the Tamworth region. Saturday 4th April – Sunday 13th April 2025.
  • Pyrenees Unearthed Wine and Food Festival (Avoca, VIC): Held along the banks of the Avoca River, the event brings together the Pyrenees & Grampians regions’ best producers to showcase the award-winning wines that Western Victoria is famous for. Get together with friends and family, dust off your picnic rug, pack a sun hat and join us for an unmissable afternoon in the Pyrenees. Sunday 5th April 2025.
  • Strategem Bendigo Winemakers Festival (Rosalind Park, Bendigo VIC): Sip and savour over 80+ wines, from crisp whites to bold reds, sparkling wines, and everything in between. Saturday 5th April 2025.
  • Trailgraze (Sassafras,TAS): an exclusive food and drink event celebrating the best of North and North West Tasmania. Friday 11th April – Sunday 13th April 2025.
  • Norwood Food and Wine Festival (Adelaide, SA) The best South Australian culinary experiences will be on show as the Norwood Food & Wine Festival returns to The Parade on Sunday 13 April during the AFL Gather Round. The precinct’s bars, cafes and restaurants will be joined by some of the state’s best wine, beer and spirit producers for an afternoon of festivities in true South Australian style. The festival is free to enter, with AFL games broadcast on big screens along The Parade and within venues. Sunday 13th April 2025.
  • Barossa Vintage Festival (Barossa Valley, SA): The Barossa Vintage Festival is where the best of Barossa comes out to play!. It’s a celebration of what they do best. Think wine and food events, grape stomping competitions, markets and live music in vineyard ambience. Where tradition meets a seriously good time! Wednesday 23rd April – Sunday 27th April 2025.

May

  • Taste Great Southern (Great Southern Region, WA): Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes of WA’s Great Southern. Rugged coastlines and towering treetops set the stage for a true culinary adventure. Thursday 1st May – Sunday 4th May 2025.
  • Grampians Grape Escape Wine & Food Festival (Halls Gap, VIC): An iconic festival set in the heart of the stunning Grampians National Park (Gariwerd). Grampians Grape Escape is a celebration of Western Victoria’s finest wine, food, and music. Friday 2nd May – Sunday 4th May 2025.
  • Tasting Australia (Adelaide, SA): Board a Tasting Australia Airlines flight to destinations you’ve always wanted to explore. Savour the magic that happens when local legends are joined by top chefs from around the world . Sip your way through a wine, beer or spirit masterclass. Sample South Australian gems alongside those from further afield. Head to the heart of Adelaide or enjoy a regional getaway.  Friday 2nd May – Sunday 11th May 2025.
  • UnWined Perth (Perth, WA): Immerse yourself in the ultimate winter celebration at UnWined Perth. The event highlights the best of WA’s wine, food, and entertainment, offering the perfect day out in the heart of the city. Friday 16th May – Saturday 17th May 2025.
  • Hunter Valley Lovedale Long Lunch (Lovedale, NSW): Lovedale Long Lunch is a progressive dining experience, inviting food and wine lovers to immerse themselves in the flavours of Lovedale. Every year in May, the Hunter Valley’s top chefs collaborate with six of the area’s best wineries, paired with local entertainment, for an unforgettable weekend of foodie fun. Saturday 17th May – Sunday 18th May 2025.
  • Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend (Clare Valley, SA): Over 10 days, the festival showcases the region’s wine and food culture. On offer are a range of unforgettable experiences, including the exciting new Gourmet Bus Trails. Friday 16th May – Sunday 25th May 2025.
  • Taste of Kakadu (Kadadu National Park): Set within a World Heritage-listed national park, Taste of Kakadu is a bush food experience unlike anything on Earth. Friday 23rd May 2025.
  • Pinot Affair (Geelong, VIC): the ultimate celebration of Geelong’s family-owned wineries and their finest Pinot Noir. This highly anticipated wine-tasting event, now in its 6th year, showcases the world-class cool climate Pinot Noir of the Bellarine, Surf Coast, and Moorabool Valley of Geelong. Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th May 2025.
  • Noosa Eat & Drink Festival (Noosa, QLD): Mark your calendars for the 2025 Noosa Eat & Drink Festival!. 2025 promises to be a four-day culinary extravaganza with more long lunches, an impressive line up of restaurant events, sundowner beach events and a host of new features in the Festival Village. Live entertainment to pop-up dining experiences. Thursday 29th May – Sunday 1st June 2025.
  • Good Food and Wine Show Melbourne (Melbourne, VIC): From the Barossa to the Loire Valley, the show brings together foodie icons and unique taste experiences. A three day extravaganza of good food, good wine and good times. Friday 30th May – Sunday 1st June 2025.

June

  • Weekend Fit for a King (King Valley, VIC): Join the wine making families of the King Valley on the June long weekend – where you too can feast like a King! Saturday 7th June – Sunday 8th June 2025.
  • Roam Rutherglen Winery Walkabout (Rutherglen, VIC): The full festival program features premium tastings, live entertainment, and unique sensory cellar door experiences from 16 of our region’s wineries. Saturday 7th June – Monday 9th June 2025.
  • Good Food and Wine Show Sydney (Sydney, NSW): From the Barossa to the Loire Valley, the show brings together foodie icons and unique taste experiences for a three day extravaganza of good food, good wine and good times. Friday 20th June – Sunday 22nd June 2025.
  • Winter Harvest Food and Wine Festival (Kalbar, QLD): The festival will feature hands-on workshops and presentations led by local producers and Scenic Rim Food Ambassadors. Saturday 28th June 2025.

July

  • Hunter Valley Wine Festival (Hunter Valley, NSW): The festival brings together the region’s best wineries, beer, spirit, cider tastings, fine local food, and entertainment. A real family-friendly atmosphere. Saturday 12th July 2025.
  • Good Food and Wine Show Perth (Perth, WA): From the Barossa to the Loire Valley, the show brings together foodie icons and unique taste experiences. A three day extravaganza of good food, good wine and good times. Friday 18th July – Sunday 20th July 2025.
  • Cabin Fever Festival (Margaret River, WA) Cabin Fever will be back with more than 40 events from Busselton to Margaret River and everywhere in between. They’re bringing all the fire, food and fun across 10 wintry days that will leave you fuller than a late-night fridge raid. Friday 18th July – Sunday 27th July 2025.
  • Winter Reds (Adelaide Hills, SA): The Adelaide Hills Wine Region hosts the biggest winter wine event in the state, with over 35 Adelaide Hills Wine Producers and partnering venues all charging their glasses in celebration of the region’s renowned cool-climate red wines. Friday 25th July – Sunday 27th July 2025.
  • The Curated Plate (Sunshine Coast, QLD): The Curated Plate is a delicious celebration of the Sunshine Coast’s local produce, producers and chefs, and unique natural assets from the sea to the hinterland. Friday 25th July – Sunday 3rd August 2025.

August

  • Salt House Food & Wine Festival (Cairns, QLD): Indulge in the Taste of Tropical North Queensland. The Salt House Food & Wine Festival is back once again this August with great food, wine, cocktails, live music and so much more! Taste your way through an enticing range of winemakers, distillers, brewers and producers, alongside food stalls showcasing FNQ’s stunning local produce. Saturday 2nd August 2025.

September

  • Grenache & Gourmet (McClaren Vale, SA): Join the celebration through a series of deliciously diverse experiences held at some of the iconic wineries in the McLaren Vale Wine Region. From cosy long lunches and limited edition back-vintage wine tasting opportunities to exclusive behind-the-scenes winery and vineyard experiences, Grenache & Gourmet is a must for every wine and food lover! Friday 19th September – Monday 6th October 2025.
  • Flavours of Mudgee (Mudgee, NSW): Delight in the exquisite offerings of local wine and food producers while enjoying live performances along Mudgee’s iconic main streets. Saturday 27th September 2025.

October

  • Heathcote Wine and Food Festival (Heathcote, VIC): The Heathcote Wine & Food Festival is a showcase of wines produced in the Heathcote wine region. It celebrates all the grape growers and winemakers who have helped to make Heathcote a name associated with some of Australia’s finest wines. Saturday 4th October – Sunday 5th October 2025.
  • Savour the Flavour (Hawkesbury, NSW) Savour the Flavour is a colourful celebration of the Hawkesbury’s food, local produce and beverages. Visitors and locals alike will have the chance to sample and purchase delicious food, produce and beverages from local farmers and businesses. Saturday 11th October 2025.
  • Good Food and Wine Show Brisbane (Brisbane, QLD): From the Barossa to the Loire Valley, the show brings together foodie icons and unique taste experiences. Over three days of good food, good wine and good times. Friday 24th October – Sunday 26th October 2025.
  • UnWined Subiaco (Subiaco, WA): Explore unlimited wine tastings from top regional wineries, along with craft beers, boutique spirits, and refreshing cocktails. Saturday 25th October – Sunday 26th October 2025.

November

  • Pair’d (Margaret River, WA): Pair’d will once again transform the Margaret River region into a celebration of world-class wine, food and music. Described by delicious Australia as “the chicest wine and food festival”. Pair’d invites you to indulge, explore, and connect in one of the most breathtaking destinations in the world. Thursday 20th November – Sunday 23rd November 2025.
  • Good Food, Good Wine, A Feast of Festive Flavours (Sydney Carriageworks, NSW): Indulge in the magic of the festive season at the Good Food & Wine Show Christmas Market. Immerse yourself in a merry medley of tasty treats and foodie delights. Over 150 producers will showcase the best in artisan food, wine, and curated products for gifting and styling. Friday 21st November – Sunday 23rd November 2025.

December

  • Good Food, Good Wine, A Feast of Festive Flavours (Melbourne, VIC): Indulge in the magic of the festive season at the Good Food & Wine Show Christmas Market. Immerse yourself in a merry medley of tasty treats and foodie delights. Over 150 producers will showcase the best in artisan food, wine, and curated products for gifting and styling. Friday 5th December – Sunday 7th December 2025.

I hope this list inspires you to plan your year around some of these fantastic wine events.
