- Sydney Ferries – Must-do for views! Ride from Circular Quay to Manly, Watsons Bay or Taronga Zoo.
- Metro – New, clean and super efficient for getting around northwestern suburbs.
- Rideshare & Airport Shuttles – Uber, Ola and Bolt are all available, with quick pickups at Sydney Airport.
Opal Card, Passes & Payment Tips
You won’t need to buy tickets if you’re set up properly — everything in Sydney is tap-on/tap-off ready.
- Opal Card or Credit Card – Simply tap your card or device at the gates or readers.
- Daily Cap – Never pay more than $17.80/day or $8.90 on weekends/public holidays.
- Opal Benefits – Half-price after 8 trips, travel rewards on Sunday, and ferry discounts.

Sydney’s streets aren’t always grid-like, but these tools make it foolproof:
- Transport for NSW App – Real-time schedules, service alerts and trip planning.
- TripView – Local fave for train platforms and tracking connections.
- Google Maps – Works well, but cross-check with TripView for best results.
