Travel Photography: My GoPro Hero10 Black

As I love my travel photography and am constantly on the move, my GoPro Hero10 Black has become an indispensable part of my gear. Its compact size and versatility make it perfect for capturing both spontaneous moments and planned shots during my journeys.

Why I Love My GoPro Hero10 Black

The Hero10 Black is lightweight and fits snugly into my crossbody bag, allowing me to carry it everywhere without hassle. Its wide-angle lens is excellent for capturing expansive landscapes, bustling cityscapes, and group photos without missing any details. So perfect for travel photography.

One of my favourite features is the ability to shoot high-quality videos. Also being able to extract stunning still images later. This dual functionality means I can focus on filming the moment and worry about selecting the perfect photo afterward.

Whether I’m surfing, diving, or enjoying a rooftop bar at sunset, the GoPro’s durability and waterproof design ensure it can handle various environments. Recently, I used a mini tripod to capture images at a rooftop bar with mountain views in the background. The footage and resulting stills were just what I wanted.

Considering an Upgrade?

While I’m thoroughly satisfied with my Hero10 Black for my travel photography, the newer GoPro Hero11 Black offers some impressive enhancements. It features a larger 1/1.9-inch sensor with an 8:7 aspect ratio, allowing for more versatile cropping options suitable for various social media formats. The Hero11 also introduces HyperSmooth 5.0 stabilisation and 10-bit colour depth, providing smoother footage and richer colours.

Accessories and Future Plans

The GoPro ecosystem offers a plethora of accessories to enhance your shooting experience. I’ve recently been gifted a filter kit, which I plan to experiment with both on land and underwater to see how it affects my footage.

In summary, the GoPro Hero10 Black has been a reliable companion in my travels, offering flexibility, durability, and high-quality output. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or a casual traveler, a GoPro can be a valuable addition to your gear and travel photography.
